The mystery surrounding Ben Ungermann’s disappearance from Master Chef has finally been revealed, with the Daily Mail reporting the reality contestant has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, following an alleged incident on February 23. The offences are believed to have been allegedly committed while Ungermann was in Melbourne filming Master Chef.
Eyebrows were raised when the 33-year-old first disappeared from our screens during Thursday night’s episode with singer Kate Perry. It wasn’t until Sunday night’s episode that judge Joc Zonfrillo announced Ungerman had left the competition, citing ‘a personal matter.’
The Daily Mail revealed Victoria Police had confirmed Ungerman’s arrest in the Docklands, releasing a statement saying: 'The arrest follows an investigation into an alleged sexual assault in Docklands on 23 February. A 33-year-old Queensland man has been charged with two counts sexual assault.'
Ungerman will appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 25.
