Big News For Love Island Australia Fans...

There will be no Love Island Australia this year with the Nine Network confirming filming won’t go ahead due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, the show is set to return in 2021 but it’s unknown on what Network. According to TV Tonight, Nine surprised TV insiders when it let its rights to the ITV show lapse.

However, TV Blackbox revealed the move was allegedly an orchestrated attempt by Nine to get ITV to lower its price, assuming Seven and Ten would not be in a position to bid for the show.

However, the move may be an extremely costly one for Nine with the Seven Network ready to pay up big for the rights. It’s unclear what this all means for host Sophie Monk but if Seven do get the rights it means the network will be the new mecca for trash TV, with Seven set to also air Big Brother this year.
